One of the biggest changes I’ve noticed on LinkedIn over the past five years is how much easier it’s become to start conversations with C-level and senior leadership at large companies. This never used to happen for me or my clients before.
Now, we’re seeing that personal outreach – when we write something very personalized and relevant – actually works (although the success rate is still pretty low). The key is doing enough research to make the message unique and just focused on opening up a conversation. We never sell anything in these messages.
It felt like most senior leaders had gatekeepers managing their LinkedIn, but now, as demographics shift, it seems more execs are handling their accounts directly.
Of course, this isn’t based on any hard data – just my experience and my clients’ experience. Has anyone else noticed this shift?
